Integral methods yield convenient tools to deal with inhomogeneous problems. In a similar way to the Green’s fucntions in time-dependent problems, the harmonic response functions are more well suited to calculate the temperature or displacement distributions induced by harmonic source fields of any spatial distribution. The present paper describes two aspects of thermomechanical couplings. The first application deals with scanning electron accoustic microscopy. The second one consists in thermoelastic stress analysis by means of radiometry. |
