| Résumé : |
This chapter explores the construction of the one-thousand megawatt Temelin nuclear power plant in Czech Republic . The chapter not only provides an opportunity for explaining the extent to which sustainable development policy is being addressed in a former Soviet bloc country but also offer insights into the problems of building democratic institutions in such a country. In 1989, the Iron Curtain fell and Communism as it was known ended in central and eastern Europe, but the transition to democracy and a market economy has been more complex than most westerners anticipated. |
