Specifically, it will summarize the contending positions of dam supporters and opponents in China over two key components of the sustainable development model mentioned above : land usage and popular input. To be sure, in China’s media this has been a one-sided debate, since the government will allow only positive reporting about the dam. Despite such authoritarian structures-which at first glance violate the concept of popular input-dam critics in and outside the Chinese government have made their views known.
