Elliptic predictions of heated turbulent jets using advanced turbulence closures / M. El Hayek
Titre : Elliptic predictions of heated turbulent jets using advanced turbulence closures Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : M. El Hayek, Auteur ; J. Henriette, Auteur Importance : p 27-34 Langues : Français (fre) Catégories : MATHEMATIQUE-PHYSIQUE-CHIMIE Résumé : The present investigation deals with the application of advanced Reynolds stress closures to the calculation of non-isothermal jet phenomena. A new scalar second order model based on scalar turbulent scales is proposed. Instead of the classical analogy concept between the mechanical and the scalar transport mechanisms, a new scalar time scale, defined as the ratio of the temperature variance and its rate of dissipation or scalar dissipation or scalar dissipation, is used to close the system. This new model is compared with both the standard RSM model and an advanced cubic version. Comparison with experimental data is also performed and shows some promising features.
