In this paper, a radiation model coupled with free convection is presented. The radiation model is based on the discrete ordinate method for gray media. The momentum, energy and discrete ordinate equations are solved with the finite element method. The need for an upwind scheme in complex geometries and the implementation of specular and diffuse reflecting walls in the radiation model are discussed. The model is applied to the combined heat transfer problem in a lighting armature. |
